Extend – Eyelash Extensions

Individual lashes are applied one at a time onto the natural eyelash for a flawless finish without overloading the natural lashes or causing damage. This creates the appearance of fuller, thicker-looking lashes with added volume.

With the flexibility to tailor the treatment to create anything from a subtle enhancement to all-out glamour, every Extend treatment starts with a personalised one-on-one consultation, allowing us to create a lash look that works for you.

The Extend treatment takes up to 90 minutes and  results last up to eight weeks making them perfect for those wanting beautiful lashes 24/7, or for a holiday or special occasion.

Maintenance is required to keep your eyelashes looking their best. You will need to return for a top-up (or lash removal) every two to three weeks to ensure your lashes look their best for longer.

Express – strip, individual extensions and lash fillers

The Express lash treatment range allows us to create longer, fuller, volumised lashes in just a matter of moments, lasting from just one day, up to two weeks.

LVL Enhance

The latest technology in lash enhancement is the LVL Lash Lift. LVL stands for Length, Volume and Lift. If lash extensions aren't for you, and you're fed up with torturing your lashes using lash curlers, don't despair there is a subtle alternative solution which involves "lifting" your own natural lashes from the base. The LVL Lash Lift gives you a beautiful wide awake look, with the illusion of an increase in lash length and thickness. The added lash tint creates a mascara-style effect, so you’re lash perfect from the moment you wake up.

There are 3 different gradients of lift, ranging from a dramatic lift to a more natural lift so whatever look you're after, it can be achieved.

Do you know what you’re putting on your skin?

In the news – consumers are being warned against a rise in fake-up, make-up abundant with dangerous chemicals

Last week Good Morning Britain featured reports that fake cosmetics containing dangerous levels of poisonous chemicals such as arsenic and lead are being sold. In the last few days The Daily Mail has also reported on the sale of counterfeit products, warning of harmful health implications.

Some of these fake products have been found to contain 200 times the safe limit of chemicals including arsenic, cadmium, lead, mercury and copper. These heavy metals have been linked to health problems ranging from allergic reactions and skin sensitivity to nerve disorders – and even death.

Dermatologists have reported a rise in the number of women with skin conditions triggered by use of the counterfeit cosmetics, and have warned the make-up can cause permanent damage.

Excessive levels of lead can cause high blood pressure, fertility problems, memory and concentration problems. In some cases products were found to contain up to 19 times the legal level of lead

Pregnant women and their unborn babies are particularly vulnerable to some of these dangerous chemicals. High levels of lead leads to an increased risk of harm to the foetus during pregnancy. 

The manufacture of genuine cosmetics is strictly controlled and products are tested rigorously before they go on sale. But counterfeiters use cheap, untested substances in their products, which are often packaged to look virtually identical to the genuine brand. Counterfeiters are putting in many more metals because that's what binds the make-up together. This is very strictly controlled in the UK because these metals are dangerous.

Fake versions of top brands are also being sold online. Fraudsters are able to hide behind internet sites to sell the fake goods. Products are priced so that they are a bargain, but not so cheap as to be an obvious con.  

Consumers have no way of knowing if the reduced version is genuine or fake. Counterfeiters are using domain names that appear like they are from the UK when they are not.

Consumers are advised to buy only from official stockists

In the case of fake make-up, people who buy these products  are then putting them near their eyes and mouths, which can cause blindness and if you ingest enough of it, even death.

Pollution causes us to age 10% faster

We’ve all experienced that grimy feeling after a day in the city and the black water as you wash your face and hands. But surely this is just dirt that can be washed away?  Following recent studies, we now know that this dirt is more damaging to the skin than we thought.

These studies found that pollution particles don't just stick to our faces – many of them are so miniscule, they penetrate right into it. Then they disintegrate, generating free radicals that destroy the skin's protective barrier. This leads to a whole host of issues including moisture loss, irritation, collagen breakdown, lines, and brown spots.

However with the right products you can protect your skin and slow down the ageing process.

1) Cleanse twice

Twice-daily double-cleansing is a must. The first cleanse will get rid of makeup and stick-on grime, while the second works deeper into pores to tackle sebum, sweat and filth particles that have dug in deep. Many of these particles are not water-soluble and therefore require an oil-based product to remove them such as Environ’s AVST Pre-Cleansing Oil (£19.00). Follow with an appropriate cleanser. Sebuwash (£17.00) is a gel based, foaming cleanser containing tea tree oil. For a dry, sensitive skin cleanse with AVST Cleansing Lotion (£29.95).

2) Try a Professional Treatment

A deep cleansing treatment carried out by a professional therapist is not only relaxing, it will increase blood circulation and lymphatic drainage and can treat a number of skin concerns.

It is claimed that sonic treatments (using sound vibrations to 'shake loose' ingrained dirt) remove up to 30% more pollution particles than manual cleansing. 3) Antioxidants, antioxidants, and more antioxidants

4) Eat antioxidants

"Cell oxidation is a major problem for city slickers," says nutritionist Lorraine Perretta of the International Institute of Anti-Ageing. "The inflammation it causes starts inside the body and depletes its natural store of antioxidants, so it's important to top them up by eating rainbow-coloured fruit and vegetables and vitamin E-rich avocados, nuts and olive oil. We recommend adding daily antioxidant supplement in the morning such as Advanced Nutrition Programme Skin Antioxidant (£29.95).

5) Protect your skin

A good base with skincare benefits really comes into its own in the big city. It can form a shield against dirt, support the skin barrier, soothe irritation, offer sun protection and fight free radicals, provided it has the right ingredients. 6) Don’t forget the sun protection

For those who believe the smog will offer protection against UV rays, think again: it actually makes the sun more dangerous. Research has shown that the nitrogen dioxide belched out by diesel engines reacts with UV light to produce cell-disrupting ozone, adding to the toxic load attacking your face. A study actually found that exhaust fumes are particularly good at increasing pigment spots, by no less than 20%. All the more reason to protect your skin with a good quality SPF. Dermatologists recommend layering one under your foundation, even if it has its own SPF.

7) Don't shop on Oxford Street!

LED Light Therapy (Phototherapy)
