Waxing is one of our most popular treatments, especially in the summer months. As the weather improves and we start to bare more flesh, hair-free legs and underarms become more important.

Peron Rigot have developed a range of products to help you achieve the best results from your waxing treatments. Containing key active ingredients, these products will keep skin hydrated between waxing appointments, slow down growth and prevent ingrown hairs.

Hair Minimising Body Lotion £29.50

This lotion refreshes and hydrates the skin following waxing treatments. It contains witch hazel, arnica and menthol to slow down regrowth and leave hair increasingly finer.

The lotion should be used daily. For best results use with the Hair Minimising Body Serum.

Hair Minimising Body Serum £15.00

This creamy-textured serum contains plant extracts, as well as witch hazel, arnica and menthol, to soothe, decongest and soften the skin, also slowing down hair regrowth after waxing and leaving hair increasingly finer.

The serum should be applied after each hair removal session and then three to four times a week. Use in combination with the Hair Minimising Body Lotion for optimal results.

Clinical tests on both the Hair Minimising Body Lotion and Hair Minimising Serum, conducted on 10 women over a three-week period showed 23% decrease in hair regrowth (over the 21 days) and a 7% reduction in hair thickness.

Ingrown Hair Double Scrub £18.00

Ideal for use before and after waxing, this scrub combines a chemical and mechanical exfoliation to refine the skin, preventing the formation of ingrown hairs. It also prevents the appearance of red blemishes caused by ingrown hairs, while its paraben free formula leaves skin soft and smooth for a more efficient wax.

Apply the scrub to dry skin paying particular attention to depilated areas or those to be done. Rinse with water. Use 48 hours before wax treatments and once a week between waxes to avoid the appearance of ingrown hairs.

Ingrown Hair Serum £17.00

This specially formulated serum eliminates and prevents the formation of ingrown hair. The product contains concentrated active ingredients - glycolic acid, which exfoliates the skin’s surface and refines its texture for easier hair extraction, together with bisabolol, witch hazel and aloe vera, which soothe skin and prevent the appearance of small bumps, thanks to their calming and anti-bacterial properties. Ingrown Hair Care Serum leaves the skin feeling soft and supple, for ease of future hair removal.

Apply 48 hours after hair removal, once or twice a day to treated areas. Reapply if needed after each hair removal session. For increased effectiveness use in conjunction with the Double Scrub.

Pre Cooling Gel £19.00

Enriched with Calmosensine® which works to decrease the skin’s reactivity and CM Glucan, which reduces unpleasant sensations, this cooling effect gel perfectly prepares the skin, restoring comfort and limiting post-wax reactions such as tingling and overheating, for optimal and painless hair removal.

Pre-cooling gel is suitable for all areas of the body, particularly sensitive areas and can be applied at

home from 45 minutes to an hour before waxing, or immediately before waxing in the salon.

Formulated with soothing and moisturising Aloe Vera and Capislow®, an active ingredient that reduces hair regrowth, this 4-in-1 skincare water with a citrusy fragrance is the essential step in your daily body care routine.

Spring / Summer Make-up Trends 2014

Spring has officially sprung! 20th March marked the official start of spring and time to look at a whole host of new beauty trends and inspirations.

During spring / summer there is always a natural tendency for a lighter approach to make-up and this is the case this year, less is definitely more.

One of the biggest looks for 2014 is a return to natural beauty. Although this is one of the easiest trends to replicate, the art of looking barefaced and beautiful requires the assistance of some essential make-up products.

The Perfect Base

The secret to this look is to start by creating a perfect base. Complexions should be smooth and flawless, so avoid heavy applications. This can be achieved through primers, tinted moisturisers, BB creams and lightweight foundations.

The Diseases we thought we’d defeated

We have been hearing a lot more recently about the importance of vitamin D for healthy, strong bones and overall well-being, and concerns have been rising about the number of people deficient in vitamin D. A new report released today (19.3.14) found that 60% of parents in the UK aren’t worried about the risk that comes with a lack of vitamin D. This report was discussed during the TV programme Daybreak http://www.itv.com/daybreak/health/the-diseases-we-thought-wed-defeated  

Over the last 10 years, cases of rickets (along with TB, scurvy and scarlet fever) have risen dramatically. The figure has risen from 180 cases of rickets 10 years ago to more than 800 by last year. One of the reasons for this is a lack of vitamin D.

The report’s findings have raised concerns amongst health experts that under five’s in the UK may be missing out on this essential vitamin. In fact the chances are that anyone not taking a vitamin D supplement will be deficient.

So why are we all lacking in vitamin D? It’s made when exposed to UVB rays present in sunlight. UVB is only present at midday during summer months. The lack of sunshine in the UK restricts our level of sun exposure and in fact a large number of people avoid sunlight for fear of developing wrinkles and skin cancers. In addition, the increased use of sunscreens has reduced our exposure to UVB. An SPF of just 15 will literally knock out UVB and many of us are using SPFs as high as 50.

We can gain some vitamin D in our diets through oily fish, eggs and cheese. It’s also added to milk and orange juice. However, as we discussed in our blog InsideSkincare, you can’t get all the necessary nutrients through diet alone.

As well as rickets, inadequate levels of vitamin D can lead to a weakened immune system, increased risk of cancer, poor hair growth and osteomalacia, a condition of weakened muscles and bones. 

Most people don't realise that vitamin D is also vital for healthy skin. It aids skin rejuvenation, boosts skin immunity and fights free radicals.

To get the most out of vitamin D, you need to combine it with vitamin A. These two powerful nutrients work in synergy resulting in healthy skin and bones.

New Therapists Join the Euphoric Team

We’re pleased to welcome not one, but two new therapists to the Euphoric team and Worthing beauty salon and skin clinic, plus a new receptionist.

Lizzie Hibbs

Lizzie joins us from a well known, very busy chain of beauty salons and has eight years’ experience in the beauty industry, having worked in spas and salons all over the country and, in fact, all over the world. Lizzie offers a wide variety of treatments including eyelash extensions, gel nails and massage.

Lizzie says: “I love everything the salon offers and felt that working here would be a great opportunity for me. I can’t wait to train in Environ, Advanced Nutrition Programme and Jane Iredale products as well some of the more advanced treatments on the treatment menu, and famous names like OPI and Endermologie.”

Hannah Joiner

Hannah is also an extremely experienced therapist, having gained her qualifications ten years ago. She has spent the last five years working in a large spa. Having worked for so long in a spa environment, Hannah specialises in massage and brings a new treatment – Lomi Lomi Massage - to the Euphoric treatment menu.

“I’m very much looking forward to joining the Euphoric team and meeting all the regular clients as well as building up my own regular clients.
